The 2019 Mac Pro will be what Apple wants it to be, and it won't, and shouldn't, make every 'Pro' happy

Please Apple don't paint yourself into some wierd self-limiting corner again. Go look back at the interview where Phil Schiller first mentions the new Mac Pro. This time around, Boger was succinct: the promised Mac Pro will be a 2019 product.

From Tom Boger: We want to be transparent and communicate openly with our pro community so we want them to know that the Mac Pro is a 2019 product. Whether the Mac Pro is popular is not, that is debatable. But the physical design will be dictated by the modularity, thermal design, and connectivity.

Mac Pro 2019: what we want from the new Mac Pro

There is absolutely no excuse for the next Mac Pro to be delayed until sometime in 2019. We all remember that Apple stated last year that they had already been working on a new Mac Pro design at the time of their meeting with the press. The next Mac Pro will use Intel chips. Easily 95% of the next Mac Pro will be based upon things Apple has known since 2 January 2017 or at least mid 2017. People over the design and development of the next Mac Pro should be fired. And, with regard to that TechCrunch article, what it really describes is an elaborate case of paralysis by analysis. Apple claims to be spending so much time talking with and working with and hiring a subset of users that have typically used a Mac Pro in the past that Apple has not yet begun to really design the next Mac Pro. It is more and more looking like by the time the next Mac Pro ships it will sell out rapidly to a tiny base of users that have been hanging on to Macs. If the next Mac Pro does not ship until late 2019 it might be the last Mac Pro ever. Then, just price up from there, to the stratosphere. Yes, once again you are wrong again. No one at Apple has said that. That is your clueless interpretation, mac pro 2019 more. Sounds like a company that screwed up and are trying to get things right again. And before we go blaming Tim Cook, the current Mac Pro was more than likely given the go ahead by Steve Jobs. I mean they built an entire factory for producing just that computer — it was years in the making. Tim Cook was left to figure out how mac pro 2019 reasonably upgrade the damned thing. They probably spent a couple of years doing that before throwing in the towel. Go look back at the interview where Phil Schiller first mentions the new Mac Pro. And believe me, after waiting that long, the new Mac Pro better be some super amazing magical piece of hardware to justify this ridiculous delay. Most of us are adults who need things to work well as opposed to being silly hipster styling statements. In fact, seeing it come out in the same case as old would have been a reassuring sign that adults might be back in charge. What other technology requires this delay. What, they need another year to design a new box lol. It has to be the new chip and it has to be a rack for blades housing the new chip.

What that means, according to Ternus, is that various Apple and third-party devices will complement the new Mac Pro. Yes, once again you are wrong again. The work of the Pro Workflow Team is directly affecting the development of the new Mac Pro. Panzarino's full piece on Apple's efforts to tailor the Mac Pro and other pro-level products to meet professional needs, which goes into much greater detail, can be read over at. This time around, Boger was succinct: the promised Mac Pro will be a 2019 product. Correction: A previous version of this article mistakenly attributed a line to Apple marketing director Tom Boger. In the time since Apple for the next-generation Mac Pro last year, it has put together a Pro Workflow Team led by John Ternus, where employees who focus on pro-level products all work together.
